Ipact regularly calls upon the expertise of a large number of leading scientists who are specialists in maternal mortality measurement, maternal and neonatal health programming, economic evaluation, financing health systems, epidemiology, statistics and the social sciences.

Dr Endang Achadi - Head of Public Health Nutrition Department, Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia. Dr Achadi is experienced in the design, implementation and evaluation of safe motherhood and nutrition intervention programmes in Indonesia.

Dr Margaret Armar-Klemesu - Head of Nutrition Department, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana. Dr Armar- Klemesu has wide research and consultancy experience in the area of maternal and child health and nutrition.

Dr Vincent De Brouwere - Professor, Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp. Dr De Brouwere's main field of interest is the health care system, with a particular focus on maternal health and the quality of care, including the management of human resources required for the good functioning of health systems.

Lucia D’Ambruoso – Research Fellow, University of Aberdeen. Research interests include the organisation and delivery of community-based maternal health care, medical and social models of care, human rights and health behaviours, researched using qualitative methods. Lucia is registered for a PhD to develop frameworks to define, assess and improve community-based maternal health care in remote and rural Indonesia. 

Dr Tim Ensor - Health Economist, University of Aberdeen. Dr Ensor has extensive experience in teaching, research and consultancy. His special interest is in the financing and resource inputs of health systems. He has applied his knowledge of financing issues widely in maternal health programmes.

Professor Wendy Graham - Professor of Obstetric Epidemiology, University of Aberdeen. Professor Graham is internationally renowned for her work on measuring maternal health outcomes and interventions and has undertakenmethodological and programmatic research inmany developing countries.

Dr Julia Hussein - Public Health Obstetrician, University of Aberdeen. Dr Hussein has several years experience of implementing and managing safe motherhood programmes in Africa and Asia. Her special interests are in measurement of clinical quality of care, participatory learning approaches and maternal mortality programme planning, design and monitoring.

Krystyna Makowiecka - Research Fellow, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Krystyna Makowiecka has qualitative and quantitative research and teaching skills; applying her broad experience widely in the field of maternal and child health.

Dr Nicolas Meda - Medical Epidemiologist and Assistant Professor, Ministry of Health, Burkina Faso. Dr Meda is an international expert on health and development, particularly, in HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health. His main areas of expertise are in epidemiology, ethics, clinical research and interventions in maternal, neonatal and child health.

Dr Paul McNamee - Health Economist, University of Aberdeen. Dr McNamee has wide research experience in studies concerned especially with investigating the cost effectiveness of new forms of health care delivery.

David Newlands - Health Economist, University of Aberdeen. David Newlands has specialist interests in training and research, specialising in health economics and health policy in developing countries with particular reference to maternal health.

Zahidul Quayyum - Health Economist, University of Aberdeen. Zahidul Quayyum has experience in teaching, research and consultancy. His special interest is economic evaluation of health interventions, health financing, and health systems research in low and middle income countries.

 Dr Cynthia Stanton - Johns Hopkins University. Dr Stanton's work has focused on monitoring and evaluation of maternal and neonatal health programmes. Her special area of interest is in measurement using population and facility based data sources.

Sophie Witter - Health Economist, University of Aberdeen. Sophie Witter is skilled in teaching, research and consultancy work in Asia, Africa and transitional economies. Her special interests are in health policy, health systems and health financing in low income countries.
