About us

Ipact is based at the University of Aberdeen, and was launched as the consultancy arm of Immpact, a well established Global research inititiative for the evaluation of safe motherhood intervention strategies.

Ipact specialises in providing technical assistance and training in monitoring and evaluation for maternal and neonatal health programmes..

What we do:

  • We work alongside locally based institutes in developing countries to share experiences and skills.
  • We build capacity for evaluations, by increasing the number of individuals who can design and deliver quality research based evaluations of safe motherhood strategic interventions.
  • Generate an independent source of funding which will help to sustain future scientific work for measurement in maternal mortality reduction strategies.

There is clear evidence of a demand for the work we do. Our work contributes to achieving the Millennium Development Goals, certainly those relating to maternal and child health by providing much needed quality evaluations and by building capacity through our training.
